Sands Beach is ideal for a family holiday. Once checked in at reception, there are no roads or traffic on the resort. The lagoon style private sandy beach curves in a semi circle and shelves gently and safely; perfect for toddlers. The resort has its own private access to the Promenade so you can walk along the coast into bustling Costa Teguise in the evening without ever having to cross a road. The public beach can also be accessed from this point.

Paradise Island
Perhaps the jewel in the crown at Sands Beach is the newly opened Paradise island complex. Accessed over a bridge from the private beach, it has an ice cream parlour making its own homemade ice cream, a bar and restaurant, which as well as doing a wonderful full English breakfast, has regular barbecues and nightly entertainment. Paradise Island also has a superb heated swimming pool with spectacular waterfall feature and Jacuzzi (adults only). There are regular quiz nights and live music in the Sunset bar and, if dancing the night away is your idea of fun, The Cabaret Club comes alive with two shows nightly, entry to which is free for residents. Entertainment is offered at the Paradise Island from time to time

The airport is clearly signposted. From the capital, Arrecife, take the Autovia Arrecife-Yaiza (LZ-2) and follow signs for the airport.
There are 1,120 car parking spaces available at the airport; the first 30 minutes are free, after which the charge is calculated on an hourly basis.
Autos Reisen, Avis, Betacar, Cabrera Medina, Cicar, Felycar, Hertz and Payless are represented in the Arrivals hall. When the new terminal is completed, car hire companies will also be located in the baggage reclaim area and in the Arrivals hall.
Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and depart from taxi ranks next to Arrivals. Bus: Buses operate to/from Arrecife-Playa Honda bus station on bus no.4. The bus station is situated next to Arrivals.
There is an airport information desk (tel: 928 846 001) on the Departures floor. Tourist information is provided by the Lanzarote Island Council office in the Arrivals hall (tel: 928 846 073). Information desks will also be available in the new terminal on the public concourse.
Money and communications: There are several ATMs located throughout the airport, and a bureau de change at the Travel 2000 office in Departures, on the second floor. Eating and drinking: Facilities include cafés, bars, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and fast-food outlets, many of which are located in Departures, after security. There is also a cafeteria in the Arrivals hall. Shopping: Shops are mostly located in Departures, after security. The new terminal, once completed, will also have extensive shopping facilities, both before and after security. Luggage: There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport. Lost property facilities are located on the Departures floor (tel: 928 846 001). Other facilities: There is a pharmacy on the public concourse, and first aid on the Arrivals level.
A Guacimeta VIP Lounge (tel: 928 846 345) is equipped with business facilities, including telephones and Internet access. Fax and photocopying facilities are available at the lottery outlet, on the main concourse.
Disabled facilities include ramps, a lift, accessible doors and toilets; there are also designated areas outside Departures and Arrivals where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or picked-up. Airlines can provide travellers with wheelchairs; passengers should request this service when booking their ticket. Designated car parking spaces are provided.
The Hotel Beatriz (tel: 928 591 777) and Sol Lanzarote (tel: 928 514 888), at Puerto del Carmen, are the nearest hotels to the airport. The Gran Meliá Salinas (tel: 928 590 040) and the Occidental Teguise Playa (tel: 928 590 654) are 15-20 minutes from the airport on the Costa Teguise. There are several other hotels nearby, including the Hotel Lancelot (tel: 928 805 099) in Arrecife and the Hotel Fariones (tel: 928 510 175) in Puerto del Carmen.
