Transfer between Terminals

The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.

Driving Directions

The airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester’s ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.

Car Parking

There are some 14,000 parking spaces available at the airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities (tel: (0)161 489 3723) are available. The short-stay multi-storey parking lots are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Long-term parking is recommended for any stay over 6 hours. Pre-booking, with discounts offered, is available online. A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the long-term car parks to all terminals. Car Hire

Companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. All have desks in each of the terminals.

Public Transport

Rail: Manchester Airport’s new rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, which has connections to most major destinations. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available outside or near the Arrivals hall of each terminal. Information and Help Desks

Tourist information centres are situated in the Arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2 (tel: (0)161 436 3344). There are also information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, Internet booths and a post office are available. Eating and drinking: All terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities. Shopping: Duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available. Luggage: Left-luggage facilities and lost property offices are available (tel: (0)161 489 3463 for Terminal 1 or (0)161 489 6031 for Terminal 2). Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.

Conference and Business Facilities

The Airport Business Centre (tel: (0)161 490 5580) offers a wide range of professional business support services, including private workstations with telephone, fax, photocopying and word processing facilities, meeting room hire, Internet access and videoconferencing. The airport also has conference and banqueting facilities in the Atlantic Suite (tel: (0)161 489 6181/2) and Radisson SAS Hotel (tel: (0)161 490 5000), catering for up to 400 people and including a comprehensive range of audiovisual, telephone and fax equipment. The Escape Lounge (tel: (0)161 489 3388) offers passengers a chance to relax and use a variety of business facilities, including fax machines, telephones, Internet access and photocopying; there is a charge for entry to this lounge.

Disabled Facilities

There are accessible toilets, ramps and lifts, hearing loops and wheelchair-accessible telephones throughout the terminals. All telephones are fitted with induction loops. The desk in Terminal 1 International Arrivals is equipped with a Minicom system (tel: (0)161 489 3561). Driving Directions

Access to the airport from Las Palmas and destinations on the east coast is via the island’s main north-south motorway GC-1. The airport is well signposted from the motorway and adjoining secondary roads.

Car Parking

Short- and long-term parking is available in front of the terminal building in some 1,917 parking spaces.

Car Hire

Companies available at the airport are Auto Reisen, Avis, Cicar, Europcar/Betacar, Hertz and Record. Desks can be found on the ground floor, in the walkway connecting International and EU Arrivals.

Public Transport

Road: Taxi: Taxis are available from stands outside the Arrivals areas of all three zones. Bus: There are frequent bus services between the airport and the capital, as well as other destinations on the island. Bus no.60 runs to Las Palmas for Parque de San Catalina and Parque de San Telmo. Information desks are located on level 1 of the airport in all three zones and there is a tourist information helpline (tel: (0)928 579 130). The Gran Canaria Tourist Board has a tourist information point in the EU Arrivals hall (Zone A), with tourist information and maps available (tel: (0)928 574 117).

There is a post office in the International Arrivals hall. An Internet café is situated after security on the first floor of EU Departures (Zone A). Eating and drinking: There are coffee shops, bars and fast-food stands on both the Arrivals and Departures floors; a 24-hour deli is located in Zone A (before security). Shopping: Shops at the airport include a duty-free shop, clothes shop, sportswear shop, toy and sweet shop, several gift shops, a leather goods shop, a florists, a jewellers, a clothing accessories shop, an electrical goods and music shop, and a mini supermarket. Luggage: Lost property offices are located in all zones (tel: (0)928 579 130). Other facilities: There is a 24-hour medical service, a pharmacy, baby rooms, a children’s play room, a chapel and several travel agencies and tour operators.

Conference and Business Facilities

A conference room is located in the corridor connecting the International and the EU check-in halls. The Sala Galdós VIP lounge is situated on the terrace of the second floor, above the EU Departures lounge; there is also a press lounge on the first floor between Zones B and C.

Disabled Facilities

There are lifts and ramps in the terminal for disabled access. Disabled parking spaces are provided on each level of the car park. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.

Airport Hotels

There are no hotels at the airport although the four star hotel Vecindario Aeropuerto Gran Hotel (tel: 902 172 182) is situated five minutes south of the airport. Other nearby hotels include the Reina Isabel, Tryp Iberia, Quality Hotel Fataga, Hotel Concorde, AC Gran Canaria, Santa Catalina Hotel and the NH Imperial Playa. Hotel reservation desks can be found in the Arrivals hall.
