The Vilanova Resort is located in Albufeira, the heart of the Algarve, Portugal’s most southern province. With spacious accommodation, is centred on vast matured gardens and one of the largest swimming pools in the Algarve in all covering an area of 9 hectares. The location of Vilanova Resort is the most important factor: 10m away from Albufeira’s busiest entertainment centre, The Strip, a vast amount of shops, street cafés, bars, restaurants, night clubs, yet granting a feeling of relaxing seclusion, and yet only 800 m away from Praia da Oura, one of the best Albufeira beaches.

Accommodation

All studios enjoy a private terrace, garden, an open fire place (logs provided on request in cooler months), satellite TV, kitchenette including microwave oven, daily maid service, linen is changed once a week and towels twice a week. Refundable deposit is payable on arrival.

Sports & Leisure

Tennis court (balls and rackets supplied), a fresh water large swimming pool, a fresh water children’s pool completely separated from the adult pool, two children playgrounds and football court.

Facilities & Services

Facilities and services include lush gardens all centred around a huge park with lawns, sun terraces with complimentary sun beds, soft and colourful furnishings for children aged three years and under and a safe and stimulating environment for toddlers is situated indoors. The complex comprises of two restaurants, Latino restaurant, the Paella restaurant, a pool bar and the Casablanca bar.

The city of Albufeira has 23 beaches covering 30 km of coast line. Sport facilities in Albufeira: football, golf, mini golf, horse riding, tennis, squash, gymnastics and bowling, or water sports including windsurfing, sailing, diving, jet-skiing, water skiing. There is an abundance of entertainment parks in the Algarve: Zoos of various types and sizes, waterslide parks, mini golf theme parks as well as Jeep safaris into the unspoilt hinterland.

The resort is situated 40 km from the airport, 276 km from Lisbon, 81 km from Sagres and 92 km from the Spanish border.

Departures and Arrivals are clearly signposted from the airport junction of the EN125.

Car Parking

Car park P1 is short-term parking located in the Departures area and P3 in the Arrivals area. Car park P2 is long-term parking and is located behind car parks P1 and P3. Hire cars are located in a separate car park.

Car Hire

Auto Jardim, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Nationa/Alamo, Rentauto and Sixt are all represented, with counters located in the Arrivals area.

Public Transport

Road: Taxi: Taxis can be caught from outside the terminal building, near the Arrivals concourse. Bus: Buses can also be caught outside the terminal building. Several town buses operate between the airport and various locations in central Faro (passengers should check the timetable posted near the information desk at the meeting point). AEROBUS provides a shuttle service between the airport and the city centre between June and October. Passengers should check with the airport beforehand to make sure the AEROBUS is operating.

There is an information service desk at the meeting point in the terminal building. Passengers can contact the information service (tel: (0)289 800 617) for details of flights, disabled facilities, opening hours and public transport timetables. Cultural and tourist information is also available on arrival from the ICEP desk.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: There are banks in both the Arrivals and Departures concourses, with ATMs located nearby. A bureau de change and post office are located in the Arrivals concourse. Eating and drinking: There are several restaurants and food outlets at the airport. Shopping: There are duty-free and tax-paid shops at the airport, offering a wide variety of goods. Luggage: There is a lost property facility near the meeting point (tel: (0)289 800 688). Other facilities: There are travel agencies.

Conference and Business Facilities

A conference room is, exceptionally, available for hire in the terminal building; facilities for up to 65 delegates include TV and video. Passengers wishing to use the CIP Lounge (tel: (0)289 800 787) should enquire at the information desk.

Disabled Facilities

Passengers requiring wheelchairs or assistance should inform their airline at the time of booking. Lifts and disabled toilets are located throughout the airport. Disabled passengers can park in reserved spaces in the car park opposite the terminal building.

There are no hotels on-site, although the Ibis Faro (tel: (0)289 806 771) is only 2km (1 mile) from the airport.
