Located in the shadow of the striking Mont Blanc, stylish Courmayeur is one of Italy's best-known and most fashionable ski resorts. Even at a height of 1200m, it has an excellent snow record, along with a reputation for flattering slopes and sunny lunches. All ski grades are catered for but Courmayeur is particularly well-known for its varied selection of easy and intermediate runs. From the shoulder of Mont Blanc, intermediate skiers can ski the once in a lifetime Vallee Blanche glacier run over to Chamonix, but must follow a qualified mountain guide to do so.
Back in the village, non-skiers and apres-skiers enjoy the cobbled streets of the village and the wealth of boutique shopping and nightlife on offer. Fanatstic Italian cuisine is always available to please even the hungriest of skiers. There is also skating, bowling, curling, indoor golf and a vast selection of cafes and bars.
