The resort is centred on a small town in the south-eastern corner of the island, 50kms from the capital, in an area of exceptional natural beauty. Rugged mountain ranges partially covered by Mediterranean scrub drop precipitously into a clear sea. The main attraction is the towns coastline and beaches. Considered by many as some of the best beaches the island has to offer, the coastline around Villasimius is dotted with small salt-water lagoons and islets, white sandy coves flanked by smooth granite boulders and white sandy beaches facing emerald seas. This natural wonder now forms part of a protected marine park. To cater for guests, the town has bars, pizzerias, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, bank and a leisure marina. On the beaches, water sports equipment can be hired; a horse riding and trekking centre operates nearby. If you are in the mood, discotheques operate in the area in high season.
