Description

Venue: Giardini Pubblici    When: Daily

Designed by Piermarini in 1786, the Giardini Pubblici form Milan's biggest and oldest green area, stretching over 16 hectares between Corso Venezia, Via Palestro, Via Manin and Bastioni di Porta Venezia.

In 1856 the gardens were improved and expanded by architect Giuseppe Balzaretto and today they are still the best place to relax, away from the frantic city centre.

Along with three small lakes, a playground for children and countless monuments and statues, the gardens also feature the 18th-century Palazzo Dugnale, housing the Greenhouse Laboratories, the Civic Museum of National History and Villa Reale.
