Description
Venue: Auditorium Parco della Musica When: Daily
The Auditorium Parco della Musica, also referred to as the "factory of music", is Rome's newest multi-functional complex, featuring three huge "music boxes" which are architecturally and structurally conceived to improve acoustics.
Surrounded by a sea of vegetation that leads to the adjacent Villa Glori, the Auditorium comprises the Sala (Hall) Santa Cecilia with 2800 seats, the 1200-seat Sala Sinopoli (named after the Italian composer and conductor who died in 2001) and the Sala Settecento (not surprisingly with 700 seats). But that's not all, the structure is also home to La Cavea (The Vault), an outdoor arena which can hold up to 3000, and Parco Pensile, the Hanging Garden available as the ideal chillout zone after frenetic concert-going!
The venue also hosts permanent and temporary art exhibitions, theatre and dance performances, cinema, festival and literary events. Please visit the Auditorium's website for programme details.
