This hotel is too far out of Rome to be practical to anyone without their own transport. Following the directions for public transport will leave you marooned in a supermarket car-park!

Scheppers Hotel is described as being "a few short steps from the Vatican". More like a bus and metro ride away,on a dual carriageway,making it impossible to walk/to.The hotel also neglected to tell us about their/minibus/service.We were out for the whole day as it wasn't practical to go back to the hotel for a rest after the day's sightseeing beforegoing out/again/for the evening.

The hotel was descibed as "within steps of the Vatican City". This hould have read "at least 20-30 minutes by bus". On the plus side public transport is frequent and easy to find, however access requires a walk along a major road that has no pavements.

If you are going to do the sites in Rome - forget this hotel - it is far too 'out of town'. The shuttle is not that frequent and you can't always get on it. If you make your own way it involves a bus AND a metro ride and expensive taxis if you are in a hurry to get to the airport bus.

The Hotel and staff were excellent - only downside was distance from city centre. Slight difficulty with transport and major road making walking and access to areas challenging.

This hotel is JUST inside the Rome perimiter & therefore it is difficult, & takes time, to get to the city centre. The hotel map on their website is extremely misleading. As a 3 star it is average, our bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly, we decided after the first night to go out for breakfast.

Hotel was OK but the heating did not work and I couldn't get them to fix it. Very friendly staff. A long way out of town with a metro and a bus trip and a walk up the hill. Not convenient.
