Description

Venue: MADRE (Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina    When: Daily; not Tue

From Art to Architecture - Monte Sant'Angelo Subway is a permanent collection of contemporary art curated by Eduardo Cicelyn and housed on the second floor at MADRE in Naples.

The exhibition features visual material (maps, drawings, rendering) representing the outcome of a current project named Stazioni dell'Arte, or Art Stations. It refers to Naples' new urban development that aims to turn Monte Sant'Angelo station into a work of art.

Designed and realised by Anglo-Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor in collaboration with the London-based design studio Future Systems, Sant'Angelo metro stop is a prime example of the recent trend to close the gap between aesthetic and civic engineering.

Please note that entrance fees and opening hours differ from those of the museum and are subject to variation according to dates.
