What you said
The Hotel is situated across a bust road from the canal and the welcome at reception is good and they listened to our request for a non-smokers room in a quiet location which they found for us at the back of the hotel on the fifth floor. The room overlooked the carpark and was overlooked by offices on two sides but that did not matter as we were only in at night and duly drew the curtains. The room was clean, warm and a very comfortable bed with clean and fresh white linen and was plenty warm enough for us to sleep with the window open on one night and even the hum of extractor fans did not stop a good nights sleep. I think the en-suite had recently been made over as there were one or two splashes of paint on the bath and the odd spot or two of grout but overall clean and fresh except for a stain on the bottom of the back of door that remained from when we arrived 'til the day we left. The "Evening Special" meal we had there was excellent value for money and the service in the bar always polite and friendly as you would expect in Ireland but our barman was an eastern european who had learnt the Irish way and was equal to his role. The lack of biscuits with the tea making facilities in the room seemed a petty way to make savings and as my wife pointed out, even the average B & B offers that welcome nowadays. Overall the hotel is clean, well staffed, warm and welcoming and I would stay there again despite my small critiscisms..... it is only their attention to detail that let them down a little.... with those points addressed I would have scored them 5 in all departments.
