Elounda is about an hours drive from Heraklion and is situated on the east side of Crete. It has an attractive harbour and magnificent views of Spinalonga Island. Unlike most of its neighbours it has retained a lot of its Cretan charm which make it a relaxing holiday spot. There is a good choice of bars, restaurants and cafes around the harbour area and also a beautiful sandy beach with a whole host of water-sports to choose from.
