Chania is the main town in the west of Crete, with the second largest population after Heraklion. It is divided into two parts - the New Town, which is full of shops and restaurants and the Old Town, which is made up of narrow streets and local architecture. There are numerous sandy beaches to choose from, with a variety of water-sports on offer. It has a great range of bars and nightclubs, which are guaranteed to keep you entertained until the early hours.
