Description
Venue: Rheinturm When: Daily
Having coffee on the top floor of the Rhine Tower is a spectacular break from walking around Düsseldorf. Leaning against the steeply sloping windows and looking down from an impressive 230 metres provides a few dizzy moments and a spectacular view. When it's clear you can even see as far as Cologne...
The view is amazing and true connoisseurs head for the panorama restaurant or the bar, where you can find some really comfortable leather chairs. Just relax and forget all the hassle of business or running around sightseeing. Nobody can deny the rush of adrenalin when leaning over the windows and looking straight down. Usually that sort of perspective is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but here you can do it over and over again...
The tower reveals another function at night, when the windows set up vertically from the ground to the top become a colossal digital clock.
The tower is located on the bank of the River Rhine, not far from the flashy parliament building and the three stunning Gehry towers in Dusseldorf's new media district. It is just a 15-minute walk from the centre and the Altstadt and well worth reserving some time for when you're visiting the city.
