The people of Munich love their swimming pools and the city provides them with a variety of unusual places to swim. In the depths of winter, the most special is the Dantebad, an outdoor pool warm enough to enjoy even when the snows fall.
All through the winter months, the main pool is kept at 30°C, with a lounging pool at 34°. If this still isn't hot enough for you, there's a sauna installation as well, along with that inevitable accessory in Munich, a beer garden, handy in the summer season (the pool is open all year round).
The Dante complex consists of five different swimming pools, including a special wellness and fun pool and a nudist section. It draws a cross-section of the population, some of whom choose to swim or sun themselves topless or in the most minimal of bathing costumes. For the kiddies there is a snack stand with a vast assortment of sweets.
