Vieux Nice stands in the middle of the buzzing metropolis, providing an oasis of tradition and history much appreciated by the visitor. Based around the Cours Saleya, the maze-like streets of the Old Town are fun to explore, whether one is shopping, eating or simply just enjoying the architecture.

Small, mainly independent shops litter the streets, selling food, casual clothing, jewellery and records. In the mornings there is a fantastic food market in the Cours Saleya. For those not interested in shopping, there are plenty of outside cafes, great for people-watching or just soaking up the atmosphere.

Nights in Old Nice are just as busy - bars and restaurants are plentiful and reasonably cheap. With a background of beautifully-lit old buildings and local music, it is easy to understand why this place is so popular.
