What you said

Good points include location in a nice neighbourhood with the nearest metro station only a few minutes' walk away. The hotel was pleasant, with a nice reception and breakfast area. The room was in urgent need of redecorating, but was clean. The breakfast was fairly basic, but was included in our tariff. The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again for a budget trip.

Great hotel, friendly staff - great location if you're not quite sure about the nightlife in Paris. Meanwhile... I think we were one of very few people staying there, and we were placed in the "dungeon', (aka, downstairs - while it was a very vertical building). Breakfast was good, but you could do better getting a hotel w/o breakfast and enjoying it at the markets/side street. Great location for nightlife. Uuber friendly reception. Would definitely go there again if we were'nt placed in the dungeon. Maybe 3* all up.
