We got there and they were re-laying the carpet with industrial glue. The smell was so pungent it was as if I'd walked into a giant white board marker pen. Not a great start. Then we were shown to our room which was where the carpet fitting was taking place. The smell got worse and my eyes felt as if they were about to bleed. Even the carpet fitter apologised. Moved to another room, whcih was small but clean and well kept. Cheap and cheerful. Then a light bulb nearly exploded and we were plunged into darkness. The hotel isn't that bad. It is clean and the location is fantastic. But it is definitely two star. We had a bit of a disaster but it serves its purpose. Cheap and central.

The rooms were well appointed with little matching french-esque armoirs and tables. And quaint as in estate descriptions but really cute. It's great for the Bastille area and a 15 minute walk to the Hotel de Ville area. Too bad breakfast isn't included in the price. Didn't rave about the service because breakfast trays rode up and down in the lift for most of a day.

The picture of the hotel on the website was alittle misleading as it seemed to have a garded outside. However, the hotel was a short walk from Bastille metro, it had recently been decorated and was clean and fresh. The rooms were small but if only used to sleep after a long day walking around Paris it was fine. The staff were friendly and helpful and I was definitely use this hotel again. Two things but this may not be the norm - tea/coffee facilities in the room and a wider range of TV stations - but these are minor things.

The hotel was perfect. I was a little dubious given the cost of the package, so forwarned everyone that it may be a little rough and ready. It was clean, tidy, central and ideal for what we needed. We had an amazing time.
