Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, just below the Arctic Circle, 25 kms from the Russian border, Ruka is known as the 'Gateway to Lapland' and was recently voted Finland’s best ski resort, with snow-sure skiing from October to May. Lapland’s crisp dry type of cold is quite comfortable as long as good protective winter clothing is worn including - a warm ski suit, several light layers of under garments, long thermal underwear, warm socks and boots, hat, gloves, ski goggles or sunglasses. A warm thermal suit and boots can be hired locally by the week.

Accommodation

Ruka Log Cabins - 7 nights - self-catering

Idyllic cosy and well-equipped log cabins in a scenic wooded location with a good nearby supermarket and excellent cross-counrty skiing virtually from the door. The ski bus stops 150m from the hotel and runs until 3am taking guests to the main ski lifts and the resort centre. Please note you will be allocated a cabin to suit your party size. Larger units have a mezzanine where the beds may be mattress beds.</</P>

Transfers: Transfers are included. 25 minutes - 25 kms.

Single supplement: No single rooms available. Minimum occupancy in each accommodation unit is 2 persons.

Infants: £32. No flight or coach seat reserved. Pay accommodation locally for cot hire and for any food consumed.

Ticketing information: Holidays are booked from an allocation held by us with the tour operator. You are making a confirmed reservation - bookings are not subject to availability. The tour operator will not telephone you unless you are departing within the next 10 days. Tour operator will send you their confirmation/ invoice the next working day after receipt of your booking. Tickets will be dispatched 14 days before departure.

Please note

• Baggage allowance is 20 kgs. There is an additional charge of £15 per pair for the carriage of skis.
• Ski carriage must be pre-booked and there is a charge of £15 per pair return. If for any reason your skis cannot be carried, the tour operator undertakes to transport your skis on the next available flight and deliver them to your accommodation. To book ski carriage enter the number of pairs you will be taking under Optional Extras at the end of your online booking. The charge will be added to your invoice.
• If you have any special requests (vegetarian meals etc.), please enter them under 'Special Requirements' when making your online booking. Special requests will be noted but cannot be guaranteed.
• There is a 2.25% charge when payment is made by credit (not debit) card.

Price includes: Flights, local transfers to/from Kuusamo and 7 nights accommodation on a self-catering basis. Special Christmas dinner with Santa on 13th & 20th December.
