Visitors to Dubrovnik are struck by its most recognisable and defining feature - the city wall. The wall runs intact for 1940 metres, encircling the entire city, and is one of the most beautiful and strongest fort systems in Europe.
A wonderful way to experience something of the history of the city is to walk around the wall and visit some of its most impressive features. Five fortresses, including St Lawrence and Revelin, are incorporated within the walls and Minceta Tower, Fort Bokar and St John's Fortress in particular provide visitors with unforgettable views of the city.
Weddings are often held in St Lawrence's small chapel as well as in Minceta Tower, while performances and concerts are organised in Fort Revelin and St John's fortress during the city's famous Summer Festival.
