The Lapad Peninsula, to the west of Dubrovnik's Old Town, is dotted with pleasant beaches, most of them open to the public. The beaches are well looked-after and the area's deep-blue sea is renowned for its high water quality.
The largest of the beaches, Copacabana, is situated at the western end of the peninsula and lined with restaurants, cafe bars and icecream stands. You can rent surf boards or canoes and dare pedalling cruises.
Other options include Banje, a pebble beach boasting a beautiful view of the Old Town, or the sandy Lapad beach, scenically situated in Lapad bay and shaded by large trees.
