Modelled on the famous George V in Paris, in 1930 the Le Plaza opened its doors to host the high society of Europe, and stars and celebrities from across the world flocked to its doors. In 1996 the hotel was renovated and completely refurbished so as to re-capture the glamour and style of its heyday. Once again Le Plaza welcomes connoisseurs of good living - its guest book signed by such personalities as Bob Geldorf, Phil Collins and Pavarotti.

An elegant salon, L'Estérel, with its domed 'trompe l'oeil' painted sky ceiling is the place to meet for a cocktail or to enjoy a fine meal chosen from the seasonal menu created by the hotel's celebrated chef (closed for dinner on Saturdays during the summer period July 16 - August 31). For a small supplement (payable locally) you can book Continental breakfast served in a chandeliered breakfast room - or for just a bit more you can decide to take the impressive full American hot and cold buffet breakfast with, of course, a glass of champagne to accompany it.
