Description

Mayrhofen

As one of Austria’s best known resorts, Mayrhofen lies in the mountainous Ziller Valley where keen skiers, non-skiers and those seeking a lively night life are well catered for. With a new cable car to the Ahorn area and the fast gondola up to the Penken, the ski region is connected up to the Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm ski areas, belonging to the extensive ‘Zillertal 3000’. Wintersports enthusiasts can enjoy an incredible 157km of pistes plus 86km on the nearby Hintertux glacier included on the whole area lift pass and connected with a free bus. For the more adventurous skier there are 22km of black runs including the steepest run in Austria, the infamous Hara Kiri with its 78% gradient! Nightlife is great with bars, pubs and clubs ranging from ‘Scotland Yard’ to the ‘Sport Arena’ club at the Strass.
