An historic and enchanting Alpine town, Schladming is home to a delightful onion-domed church and a magnificent eighteenth-century square. The resort positively oozes Austrian tradition - it offers charming tea dances, Oom-pah bands and all the tasty apple strudel you could wish for. Its unique old world atmosphere makes Schladming an extremely attractive choice, especially for those seeking country customs, as well as those with children. Après ski is available in the form of a number of bars and restaurants, and for those with excess energy a nightclub is also available. Non-skiing activities available include ice skating, swimming and bowling to name but a few.
Schladming itself has 50km of pistes and the resort offers its own regional lift pass incorporating the vast, 25-resort "Skiverbund Amadé "lift pass. Covering 270 lifts with over 860km of piste, skiers and boarders are spoilt for choice, and need never use the same run twice. Such expansive choice makes Schladming the ideal choice for exploring the delights of the many neighbouring resorts. The whole region ideally suits intermediate skiers and above, although beginners and boarders are also amply catered for, guaranteeing full value from any holiday on the snow.
