The airport is situated in the north of the island, a 10-minute drive from St John’s. It can be accessed via the Antigua Sugar Factory Road or the Old Parham Road followed by the Airport Road.
Long- and short-term parking is available in front of the terminal building.
Car hire companies include Avis, Capital Rentals & Tours, Carters, Dion’s, Dollar, Jacobs, Jonas, Oakland, Richard’s, Slane’ Supreme, Stead’s and Thrifty.
There is no public transport to/from the airport. Air: Helicopters run services to Monserrat between 0830-1630, with most departures on Sunday and Friday (no service on Wednesday and Saturday); contact Carib Aviation (tel: 268 462 3147) for more information. Subsidiary companies of LIAT (tel: 268 480 5600) run flights within the Leeward Islands, with desks in Arrivals. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available for hire on a fixed-fare basis to St John’s (journey time: 10-15 minutes) and local hotels.
There is one information desk on the ground (public) side of the terminal.
Money and communications: A 24-hour ATM is available. There is also a post office and a bureau de change. Eating and drinking: There is a restaurant and a bar. Shopping: There are shops, including duty-free shopping. Luggage: A porter service is available; tipping is expected. Other facilities: None.
There are no business or conference facilities on the airport site; there is a VIP lounge at the airport, with newspapers, magazines, TV and restaurant service. The nearest provider is the Beachcomber Hotel (tel: 268 462 3100 or 462 2756; fax: 268 462 4012), 3km (2 miles) away, with Internet access, fax facilities and a meeting room.
A lift, ramps and first aid are all provided at the airport and wheelchairs are available. Individual airlines can assist disabled passengers on request; passengers requiring wheelchairs and assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
