  • Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World
Are you stuck for something to do with the kids? Sick of traipsing up mountains and admiring lakes? Check out Puzzling World, one of the quirkiest theme parks in existence.
  • Abel Tasman National Park
The Abel Tasman National Park is a small but perfectly formed reserve boasting some of New Zealand's most stunning coastline. Quirky-shaped granite boulders where seals laze jut out of the crystalline, turquoise waters, tidal estuaries are the playgrounds for bottlenosed dolphin and the best of it can be enjoyed by taking New Zealand's most popular walk, Abel Tasman's three-day Coast Path.
  • Queenstown
Queenstown, self proclaimed adventure capital of the world, has without doubt earned its title. Birthplace of the bungee jump, everything from luge, jet-boating and hang-gliding to - of course - bungeeing or "simply" abseiling is on offer to the visitor. All activities take place either at the town or a few minutes' drive away. Set in an exquisite setting on the edge of giant Lake Wakatipu, and full of bars and restaurants, it has to be your top destination in the whole of South Island.
  • Dart River & Valley
Take a jet boat up the Dart River for a truly magical experience. The river and valley, stretching from the far end of Lake Wakatipu, affords fantastic views, wide-open expanses of water, and, as the river narrows upstream, exciting mini-rapids to battle against. No wonder it was a favourite spot in the filming of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings.
  • Mt Cook National Park - Aoraki
The Mt Cook National Park - also known by its Maori name Aoraki - encompasses 700 square kilometres of the South Island's most dramatic landscapes. Twenty-two of New Zealand's 27 mountains above 3050 metres are found here, including the highest mountain in Australasia, Mt Cook itself, at a majestic 3755 metres.
