Venue: St James Theatre    When: Daily

Built in 1912, His Majesty's Theatre (as it was then called) was the largest vaudeville theatre and cinema in Australasia, ornate and sumptuous. Now the Westpac St James Theatre, it has been recognised by New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a Category 1 building of outstanding cultural and historical significance.

Considered one of the finest lyric theatres in Australasia, since its refurbishment and reopening in February 1998, it has been adminstered with its nearby sister venue, The Opera House, and is the permanent home for The Royal New Zealand Ballet as well as hosting the Wellington performances of New Zealand Opera, also based in the capital.
