Description

Venue: Dreamworld    When: Daily

Dreamworld - a winner of Queensland Tourism's Award for Best Major Tourist Attraction - has had over 15 million visitors since opening in 1981. The popular fun park features a whole host of wildlife, exhilarating rides, inspiring attractions, colourful characters and entertaining shows for all ages, and is also the location of Australia's Big Brother House.

Over the past 25 years Dreamworld has expanded to become a world-beating theme park and now boasts 12 fantastic themed worlds and some of the most technologically advanced thrill rides in the world.

The "Big 5" thrill rides are the petrifying 120-metre plunge on the Giant Drop, the adrenalin rush of The Tower of Terror, as well as the spine-chilling action of the popular Wipeout, Cyclone Rollercoaster and The Claw ("the most powerful pendulum on the planet").

For smaller guests, Wiggles World and Nick Central, including favourite Nickelodeon cartoon characters (Rugrats and SpongeBob SquarePants et al) provide plenty of fun.

A multitude of wildlife enclosures include Tiger Island, one of only two interactive tiger attractions in the world, which features rare white and gold Bengal Tigers relaxing, wrestling and playing with their handlers. For an additional price, you can even walk with tigers!

The Australian Wildlife Experience includes Koala Country, Oakee Creek Farm Show, Daintree Rainforest, Kakadu Wetland and Outback Adventure sections, home to more than 100 native animal species, including purebred dingoes, emus, cassowaries, wombats, possums, saltwater crocodiles, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos and - of course - koalas.

Big Brother fever has overtaken Australia's TV schedules since 2001 and Dreamland is the site for the infamous house where the attention-seeking contestants are incarcerated until evicted by popular vote. When the programme is not on you can visit - and even party in - the house!

With a water park, stunt shows, river rapids, a wildlife theatre and an IMAX cinema, the whole family will find a world of fun and excitement within Dreamworld's gates.
