Description

Venue: Bondi Beach    When: Daily

Perhaps the most famous beach in the world, Bondi Beach is just one of the many spectacular beaches in the extraordinary Sydney Harbour, which the settlement's first governor Arthur Phillip described as "the finest harbour in the world, in which a thousand sail of the line may ride in the most perfect security."

Now the preserve of sunseekers and funseekers, with the surfing fraternity competing for space with the swimming fraternity, Bondi, being the closest main beach to Sydney city centre, is a popular summer destination.

Roughly a kilometre long, it is enclosed at the north and south by headlands, with lifeguard patrols every day between the yellow and red flags.
