Transfer between Terminals

The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.

Driving Directions

The airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester’s ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.

Car Parking

There are some 14,000 parking spaces available at the airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities (tel: (0)161 489 3723) are available. The short-stay multi-storey parking lots are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Long-term parking is recommended for any stay over 6 hours. Pre-booking, with discounts offered, is available online. A regular courtesy shuttle bus operates from the long-term car parks to all terminals. Companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. All have desks in each of the terminals.

Public Transport

Rail: Manchester Airport’s new rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre, which has connections to most major destinations. Tourist information centres are situated in the Arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2 (tel: (0)161 436 3344). There are also information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, Internet booths and a post office are available. Eating and drinking: All terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities. Shopping: Duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available. Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.

Conference and Business Facilities

The Airport Business Centre (tel: (0)161 490 5580) offers a wide range of professional business support services, including private workstations with telephone, fax, photocopying and word processing facilities, meeting room hire, Internet access and videoconferencing. The airport also has conference and banqueting facilities in the Atlantic Suite (tel: (0)161 489 6181/2) and Radisson SAS Hotel (tel: (0)161 490 5000), catering for up to 400 people and including a comprehensive range of audiovisual, telephone and fax equipment. Transfer between Terminals

A free shuttle bus service transfers passengers between the domestic and international terminals (Pulkovo 1 and 2 respectively) (journey time: 15 minutes).

Driving Directions

From St Petersburg, drive south on Moskovsky Prospekt. When Moskovsky Prospekt becomes Pulkovskoe Shosse, take the first right for Pulkovo 2 or the second right for Pulkovo 1.

Car Parking

Parking facilities are available close to both terminals. The multi-storey car park at Pulkovo 2 is connected to the terminal via a heated walkway.

Car Hire

Hertz car hire agency serves both Pulkovo 1 and 2, with desks in Arrivals. However, travellers should be aware that driving in and around St Petersburg is probably not a good idea due to the condition of the roads and the erratic nature of the signage.

Public Transport

Road: Bus: Bus no.13 leaves for St Petersburg from the front of the central office building at Pulkovo 2. There are two stops. Buses leaving from the stop nearest Arrivals will take passengers to the Moskovskaya Metro Station. Bus no.39 departs from in front of the Pulkovo 1 west entrance/exit and runs to Moskovskaya Metro Station, stopping at Kievskoe Shosse en route. Travellers can also take a shuttle minibus marked ‘T-39’ that goes from Pulkovo 1, via Pulkovo 2, to Moskovskaya Metro Station and then to the centre of St Petersburg. Taxi: Taxis are available. Marshrutnoye taksis are minibus taxis that are only marginally more expensive than local buses; these depart for St Petersburg from outside both terminals and run to Moskovskaya Metro Station.

The airport has business lounges that can provide telephone and fax facilities. There are two lounges and a VIP suite in Pulkovo 2 (tel: (0)812 104 3434) and a business lounge in Pulkovo 1 (tel: (0)812 123 8545). The post office in Pulkovo 2 offers business services including Internet, fax, photocopying and IDD telephones.
