This popular tour was created to offer the very best of China in one compact and complete programme. You will see the best known sights in the Olympic city of Beijing, the former imperial capital of Xian and cosmopolitan Shanghai. In addition admire the landscapes of the Li River’s unique limestone mountains and charming countryside around Guilin and Yangshuo.

Itinerary

  • Days 1-4: UK – Shanghai

Fly to Shanghai with Emirates Airlines. Relax before beginning your explorations the next morning. See the Shanghai Museum and the famous Bund before enjoying a welcome dinner of traditional Shanghai cuisine. Next day visit Yu Gardens and Old Town, the Pudong area, explore Xintiandi with its 1920’s style buildings and enjoy a Huangpu River Cruise in the evening.

  • Day 5: Shanghai - Guilin

Morning at leisure before flying to beautiful Guilin.

  • Days 6-7: Li River Cruise - Yangshuo

Relax on the spectacular Li River Cruise whilst enjoying the panoramic views of limestone formations towering above the river. Spend the night in Yangshuo and enjoy the colourful local markets before returning to Guilin where you will visit the Reed Flute Caves.

  • Days 8-9: Guilin - Xian

Visit Mt Diecai to view the dramatic landscape before flying to Xian to enjoy a traditional Shui Jiao dinner. The following day visit the archaeological phenomenon that is the Terracotta Warriors, followed by the Ancient City Wall. This evening enjoy a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing.

  • Days 10-13: Xian - Beijing

Visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, the Shaanxi Museum and stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Great Mosque and explore the Islamic Food Markets. Then fly to Beijing where you will enjoy a sample of delicious local cuisine, ‘Peking Duck’. Sightseeing includes Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square and the Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. Walk the Great Wall, and tour the Temple of Heaven. The following morning take a rickshaw tour through traditional Hutongs before visiting the exquisite Summer Palace. Evening entertainment will be a fascinating Chinese Acrobatic Show.

  • Day 12: Li River Cruise - Yangshuo

Relax on the Li River Cruise to Yangshuo. Our journey takes us past tranquil farming scenes and picturesque villages. The region has long been an inspiration for Chinese artists and poets alike. Take a glimpse at the stunning limestone columns that tower above the river creating magical landscapes. The small town of Yangshuo where we stay for the night is set in the lush green rice paddies of Southern China. Visit the colourful local markets before retuning to Guilin, where we will visit the stunning stalactites and stalagmites of the Reed Flute Caves.

  • Day 14: Beijing - UK

Board your flight to the UK arriving home the next day filled with many happy memories.
