The ancient city of Monastir is situated at the southernmost point of the Gulf of Hammamet, Tunisia. It was once Tunisias holiest place as well as an important strategic stronghold, even being used as a base by Julius Caesar. There are plenty of historic sights to visit plus an enchanting medina full of fascinating shops. There are plenty of restaurants here by the marina as well as a golf course about 1km away.
