Amirat al Jamal is located in the medina (old town) in the heart of Marrakech. Marrakech, surrounded by an extraordinary palm grove of over 150,000 trees, was founded in 1062 by the Almoravids and has been for more than two centuries the center of trade for the South. With the historic medina at its heart and the sophisticated Quartier Gueliz added by the French during the Protectorate, Marrakech embraces the old and the new, the traditional and the modern, the quaint and the chic.
