Scores of skilled craftsmen are said to have taken seven years to complete the impressive reception and lounge areas of this hotel set among palm groves just 300 metres from the beach. The results are amazing. Richly patterned ceilings, intricately carved doors and a floor of gleaming white marble inlaid with vibrant reds and deep greens make the magnificent lobby and sumptuous lounges really stunning.

The lobby extends into a series of lounges and marble steps that lead to the restaurants and huge pool. Overall, the style is that of a Moroccan palace. The guest rooms are arranged in groups of riad-like buildings overlooked by 'watch-towers'.
