  • Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve
    Opened in 1985 as Kiepersol, the privately owned Rhine & Lion Nature Reserve has, over two decades, rapidly grown from its initial small beginnings (two rhino and some antelope) to over 600 head from an impressive list of 25 species. In addition to a number of indigenous species that the Reserve has reintroduced to the area, including white lions and the endangered Cape wild dog, the Reserve also boasts more exotic alien species, such as the Bengal tiger.
  • Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens
    Kirstenbosch, meaning "Kirsten's Forest," is one of South Africa's finest botanical gardens, nestling on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Its existence goes back to 1660, when a hedge of wild almond and brambles was planted to form the boundary of the entire colony.
  • Wonder Cave
    Close to the Sterkfontein Caves, which have revealed early hominid remains that have proved fundamental to our understanding of our species' ancestry, is the Wonder Cave. Estimated to be 2.2 million years old, only recently - since 1991 in fact - has the cave been open to visitors, who can view its remarkable stalagtites and stalagmites.
  • National Musuem of Bardo
    The Tunisian equivalent to the Louvre, the National Museum of Bardo (Musée Nationale du Bardo) contains an impressive collection of archaeological artefacts from several periods in the country's rich history.
  • Cango Caves
    Beneath the Swartberg mountain range lie the magnificent Cango Caves. First discovered on 11 July 1780, they are now a very popular attraction along the Garden Route.
