Oscar Wildes much loved and brilliantly witty masterpiece The Importance of Being Earnest features an all-star cast comprising Rosalind Ayres, Niall Buggy, Patrick Godfrey, Nigel Havers, Martin Jarvis, Christine Kavanagh, Cherie Lunghi and Siân Phillips performing as The Bunbury Company of Players, in a new production directed by Lucy Bailey, designed by William Dudley with added material written by Simon Brett, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, the composer and sound designer is Tom Mills.
Playwright Simon Brett has given Oscar Wildes classic a delightful new context and I dont think Ive enjoyed the play quite as much
Enjoyment, most notably from Sian Phillips as a vulture-like Lady Bracknell whose voice swoops and soars to tremendous effect
The Daily Telegraph
Lucy Baileys thoroughly likeable, high-concept revival of this well-thumbed play
Philips is one of the best Lady Bracknells I have ever seen
Martin Jarvis and Nigel Havers
are reunited in their glorious double-act
It's a joy to hear Wilde's dialogue delivered with such poised musicality and mischief by seasoned performers of the calibre of Christine Kavanagh and Cherie Lunghi and Martin Jarvis and Nigel Havers
