Undeniably one of the highlights of the British sporting calendar, John Smiths Grand National Day provides excitement and anticipation in abundance as 40 of jump racings equine stars line-up for the worlds most famous horse race.
Many of us look back at previous footage of the Grand National and are charmed by the tradition and excitement of Aintrees famous Winners Enclosure. April 2007 marked the beginning of another new era, with the opening of the two new grandstands. These will allow many more racegoers to witness the thrill of the Grand National and the winner returning to a heros welcome.
Attending the John Smiths Grand National is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, yet it is something you will want to repeat year after year.
Steeplechase Enclosure
Open on Grand National Day only, this enclosure is ideal for those wanting to enjoy John Smiths Grand National Day at a leisurely and informal pace, with no dress code to worry about. Although this enclosure does not allow access to the Parade Ring or Winners Enclosure, it does offer prime viewing of the first few fences of the Grand National course.
This area also features:
Fantastic and unique views of the Grand National itself
Unreserved seats overlooking the Mildmay and Grand National course
Live coverage of all of the racing action on a large screen TV
Bars, catering and betting facilities in addition to live entertainment
The Steeplechase Enclosure is primarily uncovered, so this area really is for the racegoer who is up for a traditional, element-embracing racing day out!
Tattersalls Enclosure
This enclosure is the largest and most atmospheric area at Aintree throughout the three day racemeeting. Owing to the results of Aintrees redevelopment project, this area is now greatly enhanced and features:
The new Aintree Pavilion, a vast covered area with plenty of bars, live music and betting plus racing on the big screens
The Aintree Mound take your place to view the final fences of all races
The Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure, where you can view the horses and jockeys before and after races, and perhaps decide who you think looks on top form before placing your bets;
Access to an array of bars, including the new Parade Ring Bar and Pre-Parade Ring Bar, as well as the legendary Irish Bar within the Princess Royal Stand; plus
Bars and entertainment in the Red Rum Garden.
West Tip seats
Offering the excitement of the Tattersalls Enclosure, these covered seats offer great views up the home straight and of the final few fences of the course. Enjoy the private bar for West Tip Seats holders and then explore the rest of the Tattersalls Enclosure at your leisure. These seats are always in great demand, so book early.
