What is the prize?

• The prize Winner wins up to 11 weekend breaks offered on lastminute.com (both UK and international locations) and one 10 day holiday to an international location. The prize Winner must be available to attend all trips.

• Additionally, lastminute.com may, at its discretion, offer the prize Winner additional UK-based lifestyle products available on lastminute.com including theatre and gig tickets, experiences, spas and restaurants. These will take place each week, during the weekdays for the duration of the competition prize.

• For each trip/lifestyle event the prize Winner may bring one guest, nominated by the prize Winner. All accommodation provided will sleep two people; either a double or twin room depending on the prize Winner’s preference.

• Car hire transport during the weekend breaks and 10-day holiday may be provided at our discretion. To be eligible for this, the prize Winner must have a valid UK driving license.

• Lastminute.com will provide the prize Winner a set amount per trip to cover incidental expenses. The exact amount will be confirmed with the prize Winner prior to embarking on the trips.

• The prize cannot be extended and is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-negotiable and may not be used in conjunction with any other discount, promotion or offer or redeemed for cash.

• The prize is also subject to the prize Winner’s acceptance of the Public Relations Agreement, a draft of which is available on request (see “PR Activity” below). This sets out in more detail what the prize Winner will be doing during the trips.

How to enter the competition

• Only one entry per person. No purchase is necessary for entry.

• To enter, applicants must send their best holiday image of clip accompanied by a 200 word review of that holiday to oneheckofasummer@lastminute.com

• This competition closes at midnight on 15th July 2009 and all entries must be received on or before that date. The judging panel consists of lastminute.com employees. The judging panel’s decision is final.

• Except as otherwise stated in these terms and conditions, normal lastminute.com terms and conditions apply to the prize. Entry instructions and prize descriptions form part of these terms and conditions.

Content of entries

• By submitting an entry, the applicant warrants that:
• All content submitted in the entry is the applicant’s original work, does not violate any existing copyright or other third party right and has not been copied or plagiarized from any source;
• The entry does not contain images of an obscene, indecent, libelous or otherwise unlawful nature; and
• The applicant has the permission of any person or persons depicted in the entry to enter their likeness in the competition
• the use of the images or text submitted in the entry by lastminute.com will not infringe the intellectual property rights of or otherwise violate the rights of any third party

• The applicant agrees to grant to Lastminute.com and its group companies a world wide,  royalty free, non-exclusive license (including the right to sub-license) to use, publish, copy or adapt the images and text submitted in the entry for any commercial or promotional purpose in any media.

• The applicant agrees to unconditionally and irrevocably waive all moral rights in the images and text in the entry and all rights to object to derogatory treatment of the Photograph or video to which you may be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

• The applicant agrees that he/she will not publish, submit, provide, or display the images or text submitted in the entry to or on any other commercial travel-related web-site or on-line service without lastminute.com’s prior written consent.

How will you know if you’ve won?

• 20 of the best submissions will be short-listed and the shortlisted entrants will be notified in July. Telephone interviews will be conducted with the shortlist.

• The top ten entrants will be notified and expected to undertake final face to face interviews with a lastminute.com judging panel in July.

• A public relations contract will be issued to all finalists at the interview stage for signing.  Those who do not sign the contract are not eligible to win this prize.  For further details, see “PR Activity” or contact us at oneheckofasummer@lastminute.com .The prize Winner will be selected and notified by midnight on 31st July 2009.

PR Activity

The prize Winner must sign a public relations contract with lastminute.com and agree to the contractual obligations of the role in order to redeem the prize. In summary, this includes PR activity such as press interviews, photo calls and media tours for national print broadcast and social media, as well as contributing text and images for a blog of the trips.

General

• The Winner must be responsible for arranging

1. Their own passport
2. Their own travel insurance
3. Any medical requirements
4. Relevant Travel VISAs / permits for the country they are travelling in

• The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into by the promoter or its affiliates.

• Lastminute.com reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or illegible entries, or entries sent in by third parties or agents.

• This promotion is governed by the Law of England.

DISCLAIMERS

• lastminute.com shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any participant under this scheme. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting lastminute.com's liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of lastminute.com.
• lastminute.com shall not be liable for any failure to fulfil this offer where such failure is caused by any supervening circumstances amounting to force majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but shall not be limited to, severe weather conditions, fire, flood, war, earthquake, riots, industrial dispute, terrorism, disease, acts of God, supervening legislation, or events which, without the fault of either party, render performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution.
• lastminute.com. accepts no responsibility for entries not received by the closing date specified in [Clause 4]
• In the event of unforeseen circumstances the promoters reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal value without notice. The promoters will not be responsible for any delay or cancellation of any element of the prize nor for any inability of the prize winner to take up the prize.
• The prize and expenses offered are subject to current income tax laws.  Lastminute.com is not responsible for any tax or any other claims made on the prize Winner or any entrant in respect of any of the taxable benefits awarded under this competition.
