Winter Wonderland
Austria’s Tirol is waiting for you
One of the world’s leading ski destinations - 1,300 lifts and 3,500km of superbly-groomed slopes across a host of sensational resorts, not least the big three of St Anton, Mayrhofen and Kitzbühel. There’s glacier skiing at Hintertux and Stubai, the chocolate box village of Alpbach, the high-altitude style of Obergurgl, the eight ski centres which surround the elegant Tirolean capital of Innsbruck and more besides. There are wide, easy slopes for beginners while experts find endless deep powder to ensure memories that last a lifetime.
Start early…
The adventure gets underway in late autumn when the season opens with music, fireworks and schnapps. First celebration is in October at the Pow(d)er Week in Hintertux, with great skiing and winter welcome parties, or at the Glacier Festival in the Stubaital Valley, with all the new winter products for free testing. From then on, it’s non-stop all the way into May, and the Tirol’s famed sunshine skiing.
Skiing and a whole lot more
The Tirol’s not just about skiing and boarding. Here you can mix your own unforgettable cocktails of adventure, sport and nature every day. Breathe the pure mountain air during a bracing walk, then sled through snowy landscapes before settling comfortably in front of a cosy wood fire in good company. Enjoy world-class restaurants and rustic mountain huts, sensational spas and crazy toboggan runs – the best of today with a wealth of tradition.
Get here quickly…
