You’ll feel like James Bond in this high-speed sea adventure. This is the only powerboat experience in the UK that is run and delivered by the team that run the National Zapcat Championship where most of the instructors and staff have all competed and all instructors hold commercially endorsed RYA Powerboat certificates. Zapcats are lightweight, high speed, insanely agile, adrenaline pumping, performance powerboats. Great fun on calm water and a huge grin factor in waves and in the air! Just under 50mph top speed, up to 3 G in a turn, handle as if on rails, leap 6ft into the air and you start to understand what these boats can do! This is motocross or rallying on water, the skill of the pilot, a couple of foot straps and ropes are all that is going to prevent you from going for a swim! But if you do, you will be wearing a helmet, lifejacket and top of the range dry suit and a safety boat will be there to rescue you. As all race co-pilots will tell you, "You don’t qualify to call yourself a Zapcat co-pilot unless you have been for at least one swim!"

• Upon arrival at the marina, you’ll be given a full safety briefing. Then it’s time to change into your suits and hit the water
• During your experience your instructor will demonstrate exactly what these crazy machines are capable of, expect to spend as much time in the air as on the water
• Subject to weather conditions and location, please allow 2-3 hours at the site for your experience
  

Experience details

• This is a single experience voucher valid for two people
• Location: Southampton, Hampshire or Canvey Island, Essex
• Courses run on selected weekdays, Saturdays and some Sundays all year round. Kindly note that weekends are very popular and therefore cannot be guaranteed
• Please allow approximately two and half to three hours for the whole experience depending on location and weather conditions
• The supplier’s contact details will be included in your order confirmation e-mail
• You will receive a full information pack and an open-dated gift voucher valid for 9 months from the supplier by post
• It is recommended that you book a date at least six to eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and it is advised that you book as early as possible to. All bookings are subject to availability
• It is strongly recommended that you call the supplier as soon as you receive your voucher to arrange a date for your experience as sessions get booked up very quickly and vouchers may not be extended. All bookings are subject to availability

Essential information

• Please ensure you take your voucher along with you on the day of your experience
• Dry suits will be provided as well as necessary safety wear. Gloves and wetsuit boots are also provided
• Participants are asked to bring a towel, swimsuit and warm but light weigh clothing. Sunglasses with a lanyard and sunscreen are also recommended. Drysuits will be provided as well as necessary safety wear. Gloves and boots are also provided. Changing facilities are available in the marina, please be advised that these are shared premises used by other marina users
• Refreshments may be purchased on the day
• Spectators are welcome but they may not be able to see all of the action as views may be limited depending on the location. For further information please ask at the time of booking. Kindly note that children who are spectating with families must be supervised by an adult at all times
• Unfortunately, this experience is not suitable for the disabled
• If your experience is cancelled due to bad weather then you will be able to rebook your date
• Public Liability Insurance is included, along with Personal Accident Insurance of up to £50,000 and Cancellation Insurance of up to £500, for the voucher holder. Details will be enclosed within your gift pack
• Please note: Prior experience is not necessary

• Minimum age is 16 years (although under 18’s years need parental consent). There is no maximum age if you are fit enough
• Height: Four feet ten inches - six feet six inches
• Maximum weight is 21 stone
• This experience is not suitable for those with serious back problems, heart complaints or pregnant ladies
• Non swimmers are accepted but please inform the supplier at the safety briefing
• All guests will be asked to sign a Health & Safety declaration and an indemnity form
• Vouchers will be valid until 31st July 2010 from the date of issue. Kindly note that vouchers may not be extended beyond their expiration date
