The first time you sit in a single seater-racing car, the feeling is absolutely fantastic. The cockpit moulds around you and you can feel the anticipation building up inside. Imagine yourself racing like David Coulthard or Michael Schumacher around one of the country's top circuits. The exhilaration of high-speed laps in a single seater-racing car is second to none.

What's more you can now be one of the first to drive one of Silverstone's brand new fleet of single seater racing cars, complete with a Ford 1600cc 145bhp engine, 5-speed H-pattern race gearbox and F1 style bodywork with aero package.

The ultra light design of Silverstone’s single seaters allows incredible acceleration, with a handling ability that hugs into corners and lets you feel every inch of the track.

After a detailed briefing, where you will get to grips with the theory of driving these sensational racing machines, it’s time to take your place on the starting grid. Heading out for the first time behind the pace car, the single seater’s insatiable appetite for speed will be instantly apparent. After only a few laps your abilities will quickly develop, providing the skills needed to make the most of the unrivalled drive time this experience provides. On the second driving session take to the track without the pace car and put all your newfound skills into practice.

Your experience will end with a debrief and presentation of your driver assessment and certificate.

Experience details

• This is a single gift experience voucher for one person
• Location: Silverstone, Northamptonshire on the 0.8 mile long, specifically designed, Stowe circuit
• The experience takes place on selected weekdays and limited weekends, subject to availability. Kindly note that due to essential track works the Stowe circuit will be unavailable from 9th November 2009 to the end of January 2010.
• Please allow approximately two hours for the whole experience with approximately 40-minutes driving time
• You will receive an information pack and an open dated voucher valid for nine months. The supplier’s contact details will be included in your order confirmation email
• It is advised that you book a date at least eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. This is only a guideline and it is advised that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment as vouchers may not be extended. You must book and take your experience before the expiry date. All bookings are subject to availability.

Essential information

• Please take your experience voucher with you on the day
• Safety helmets are provided
• You need to bring flat, narrow soled shoes, long sleeved shirt and trousers. You must also bring your driving licence (photocopies will not be accepted) and your voucher as these will need to be presented on the day
• Spectators are welcome at no extra cost. A spectator viewing area, merchandise shop and cafe serving light refreshments are all on site. Kindly note that animals are not permitted anywhere on site
• If Silverstone are unable to run your experience due to adverse weather conditions, you will be able to re-book your experience. In the event of a cancellation due to weather conditions then you must contact the supplier within seven days to rebook
• Unfortunately, this experience is not suitable for those with disabilities
• Refreshments may be purchased from the café on site
• Public Liability Insurance is included, along with Personal Accident Insurance of up to £50,000 and Cancellation Insurance of up to £500, for the voucher holder. Details will be enclosed within your gift pack
• To book a date for the experience, simply follow the booking instructions detailed in the information pack or on the gift voucher

• Minimum height is five feet and two inches
• Maximum height is six feet and two inches
• Maximum weight is 16 stone
• Participants must have held a full driving licence for at least a year which must be presented on the day (photocopies will not be accepted)
• This experience is not suitable for pregnant women and people suffering from high blood pressure, heart problems and epilepsy
• An indemnity will need to be signed on the day
