"Tired, bad service"

2.0/5

Hotel promises not kept : room service never available, adaptors unavailable and many other services on hotel welcome booklet totally false. Many staff members OK, some nice, but several downright rude. This Irish hospitality needs refreshing, as do the rooms, tired and ofetne broken, bad showers, dirty carpets etc. OK for highly discounted price but definitely not a "comfortable" hotel

"Great Location!"

I stayed in this hotel on the advice of my travel agent. I'm glad that I listened to her! It's a quaint hotel that has it's own charm, as I would expect from Ireland. It hits you right as you walk in. Old wood, character oozing out all over, it made me feel instantly at home. The staff there are excellent and accomodating, the location is perfect, as the busy part is one block over, a great spot to get some rest or enjoy the atmosphere, day or night. It was the right choice for me. There is great entertainment in the hotel's pub/restaurant too! I will stay there next time I go.

"Stayed 1 Night in Dublin, Good Hotel"

On a trip to Ireland we stayed our last night in Dublin at the Arlington Hotel Temple Bar. It was a good hotel for the value and the neighborhood has a lot of activity. We were worried it would be loud as the Temple Bar area is party area and we were not going to be staying out too late due to our flight the next day. We didn't hear any noise either from the street or the other hotel guests. The rooms are incredibly spacious, the biggest room we had our entire time in Europe. Over all a good hotel for the value in Dublin, worth a stay.

"Charming"

First time in Dublin stayed at this quaint hotel. It is not new or modern but does have character and a feel of Ireland. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dinner and show in the bar is fantastic. The location is perfect for walking to many Dublin highlights including the Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College.

"First time to Dublin City"

On arrival at Dublin airport, it is very easy to get into the city centre, Taxi or bus, or coach. We picked the Airport Express Air link, 10 euro return PP, and this route dropped us right outside the Hotel doors. Lord Edward Street, stop number 10, Christchurch Cathedral, it takes about 20min. On arriving at the hotel reception, we were greeted with nice warm welcome and the room was ready, 2nd floor overlooking Lord Edward Street. Room 213, nice size triple room, double bed and single bed. Clean tidy and well-presented Tea and coffee making in the room, which was a nice touch. The down side, The Bathroom was very small, the sink was cracked, looked its been like it for some time, black mould on the ceiling above the bath / shower, and grout falling out of some of the tiles. We will post photos shortly. Even though the bathroom was not up to standard we were happy with the room, as we did not intend spending that much time in the bathroom, and the shower etc. all worked fine. It is a 3 * hotel so don’t expect a big luxuries room and bathroom, It does what it says on in the adds. The hotel has a large dining area and bar, just watch out for the prices of drink and food in the hotel; you can get much better deals just down the street, We will supply a couple of names for good quality cheap meals later. We had also booked the Celtic nights dinner and show in the Hotel for the next night, book early as they get sold out. The dinner and show was fantastic value, with great service. Great food, well worth 29 Euro each. Getting around Dublin city is no problem at all, we booked a 2 day pass on city sightseeing the Red hop on hop of bus. Again this picks up right across the street from the hotel, kids go free. First stop Guinness Store house, use your bus ticket for 1 euro discount, We spent most of a day in this attraction and had a brill time, even with the free pint of Guinness in the gravity bar at the end, you can also sign in and pour a perfect pint class, you do get a certificate as well. If you don’t like Guinness you can have a soft drink, but it works out rather costly, about 5 Euro for a glass of coke compared to a fresh pint of Guinness, which is a bit of a rip off, but its included in the admission cost, 2 Adults 31 Euro. We carried on round on the hop on hop off bus, and took a look at what we wanted to see next. We decided we would go back the next day to Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin Jail. Yet another good sight worth a visit Guided tour 6 Euro each. Well worth it you have time, with lots of history about Dublin. Next stop city centre for a spot of shopping, Well we never bought anything as the cost of goods is just crazy compared to the UK and Europe. Plenty of Dublin gift shops and shopping centre malls. Where to eat: Just down the road from the hotel, loads of all you can eat restaurants, Chinese, Indian, and Thai. Every other thing you could want French, Italian, etc. May have offers on and you get a good deal if you eat before 7pm. Plenty of food and good prices. Plus you are right in the Hart of the Temple bar area, loads of pubs to try out the Guinness in. There are also loads of coach trips to nearby sights, sight seeing day trips. A great city trip.
