First time in Dublin stayed at this quaint hotel. It is not new or modern but does have character and a feel of Ireland. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dinner and show in the bar is fantastic. The location is perfect for walking to many Dublin highlights including the Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College.

"First time to Dublin City"

On arrival at Dublin airport, it is very easy to get into the city centre, Taxi or bus, or coach. We picked the Airport Express Air link, 10 euro return PP, and this route dropped us right outside the Hotel doors. Lord Edward Street, stop number 10, Christchurch Cathedral, it takes about 20min. On arriving at the hotel reception, we were greeted with nice warm welcome and the room was ready, 2nd floor overlooking Lord Edward Street. Room 213, nice size triple room, double bed and single bed. Clean tidy and well-presented Tea and coffee making in the room, which was a nice touch. The down side, The Bathroom was very small, the sink was cracked, looked its been like it for some time, black mould on the ceiling above the bath / shower, and grout falling out of some of the tiles. We will post photos shortly. Even though the bathroom was not up to standard we were happy with the room, as we did not intend spending that much time in the bathroom, and the shower etc. all worked fine. It is a 3 * hotel so don’t expect a big luxuries room and bathroom, It does what it says on in the adds. The hotel has a large dining area and bar, just watch out for the prices of drink and food in the hotel; you can get much better deals just down the street, We will supply a couple of names for good quality cheap meals later. We had also booked the Celtic nights dinner and show in the Hotel for the next night, book early as they get sold out. The dinner and show was fantastic value, with great service. Great food, well worth 29 Euro each. Getting around Dublin city is no problem at all, we booked a 2 day pass on city sightseeing the Red hop on hop of bus. Again this picks up right across the street from the hotel, kids go free. First stop Guinness Store house, use your bus ticket for 1 euro discount, We spent most of a day in this attraction and had a brill time, even with the free pint of Guinness in the gravity bar at the end, you can also sign in and pour a perfect pint class, you do get a certificate as well. If you don’t like Guinness you can have a soft drink, but it works out rather costly, about 5 Euro for a glass of coke compared to a fresh pint of Guinness, which is a bit of a rip off, but its included in the admission cost, 2 Adults 31 Euro. We carried on round on the hop on hop off bus, and took a look at what we wanted to see next. We decided we would go back the next day to Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin Jail. Yet another good sight worth a visit Guided tour 6 Euro each. Well worth it you have time, with lots of history about Dublin. Next stop city centre for a spot of shopping, Well we never bought anything as the cost of goods is just crazy compared to the UK and Europe. Plenty of Dublin gift shops and shopping centre malls. Where to eat: Just down the road from the hotel, loads of all you can eat restaurants, Chinese, Indian, and Thai. Every other thing you could want French, Italian, etc. May have offers on and you get a good deal if you eat before 7pm. Plenty of food and good prices. Plus you are right in the Hart of the Temple bar area, loads of pubs to try out the Guinness in. There are also loads of coach trips to nearby sights, sight seeing day trips. A great city trip.

"Friendly hotel with a lovely breakfast!"

Very nice, central hotel with excellent facilities at a good price. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic, full hot irish breakfast plus cereals/toast/fruit, sets you up for the day!! Theres a nightclub downstairs which you could hear slightly from the rooms (we were on the 2nd floor), although as we were out late drinking ourselves it wasn't an issue!! Great bar downstairs too and plenty of entertainment/bars/cafes/shops nearby. Plus the airport transfer bus stops right outside the hotel! Very friendly, helpful staff on reception.

We arrived just after 10 a.m. so well before check in time, however the reception staff took our details and arranged for our bags to be taken to our room when ready. We popped back around 2 ish and were directed to our room (118) we found our bags waiting for us which was really helpful. The room overlooked a back alley that was a bit grotty but we thought we'd not be there long enough to cause concern, however on sitting on the bed we noticed a problem the bedroom window, it was broken but stuck in an open position creating a draft and lots of street noise could be heard. We reported this to reception who after 10 minutes had sorted us another room (101) this room was much bigger and brighter room, our only problems were finding a hair inside the kettle, the carpets could do with a good clean & for such a big room the bathroom was grotty and a bit dirty. The room conditions aside this hotel is a definite must as the breakfast was fantastic, location perfect and the staff were all great! Downstairs this hotel has a gem, legends bar which has great entertainment, drinks and the food is fantastic. Get there early and find a table then watch the traditional Irish dancers and musicians entertain the crowds.

There is only nice things to say about this hotel. The Staff was extremely helpful and friendly at all times. The Hotel is placed very central and only 5 minutes away from everything! The next time I visits Dublin, I would stay there again!
