My husband and 6 yo daughter and I stayed at the Starhotel Metropole Rome for 9 nights in July-August 09. We got an excellent rate booking online through the hotel site, and were fantastically pleased with everything about this hotel. The location was perfect - a 5 minute walk from Roma Termini Station so the train to and from the airport was the best option. Similarly, most tour buses and local buses leave from here, so a perfect hotel to base yourself. Termini Station also has a zillion shops, and a very cheap supermarket so you can get your necessities. If you are staying in Rome for a while, this hotel is also a great choice with an OndaBlu laundromat just a 5 minute walk up the street (viaPrincipe Amedeo). The room was great, the hotel is in a quiet street, the staff were lovely and the free buffet breakfast was delicious. Many restaurants within a short walk juo. And a little shop selling Gelato just a few doors down. (good when you are travelling will little ones). If we are ever back in Rome, we will definitely stay here again. Stayed for a long weekend, booked on the net, great deal & a room upgrade. Ideal location for sightseeing on foot., very high standard of cleanliness , exceptionally comfortable bed. bedroom was no smoking , as I'd requested , and the whole floor was non smoking too, so no stale smells at all. !! breakfast was perfectly acceptable but only average for a 4 star hotel. Bar prices were very high, but nice comfortable surroundings and attentive staff. All staff very formal , but efficient . well recommended and I would return to this hotel. Close

I just came back from a three night stay in Rome Italy at the Starhotels Metropole-our family stayed in the triple room. The hotel was conviently located in a side street near Termini as well as the Repubblica metro stop . All the conceierge were extremely helpful and gave great directions and tips to enable you to enjoy sightseeing- any question about Rome sightseeing, shopping or entertainment can be answered by the staff. The room was nicely decorated, modern and had a great bed which was very comfortable as other reviews had previously stated. Bathroom was also very good, with bath, and even a TV in it for the fun. The room and the hotel were very clean at all times. The food was excellent - breakfast was filling and there is plenty of choice ((eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, cereals, fruits, croissants, everything you can imagine in a very large buffet). I will return to this hotel on my next visit to Rome. The price was well worth it and this is the best way to spend a vacation in Rome. Close

I was going to Rome for a cruise with my wife and mom and needed a reasonable place to stay for a night. The location was nice, by the opera house amd some restaurants nearby to eat at. The room was clean, fresh and quite functional. It is what I call a business room, no real local flavor, but clean and functional and all I need when traveling abroad. I have been to some real bad hotels and this was perfect for me, no problems. The included breakfast was very nice and this served all my purposes for the stay. If you need a clean hotel that is modern and fuctional for your stay this is it. Close
