We stayed at the Gambrinus last year and thought it was great, this year was even better. . The bedroom and bathroom were large and decorated to a high standard. the hotel is ideally placed in a quite road within 10 minutes from the Via Venetto and the fabulous Villa Borghese . Breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice and it kept you going all day. The staff were both helpful and courteous Next time we visit Rome we will definitely stay again. Close

We travelled to Italy for our honeymoon and while the whole trip was a dream, Roberta and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful. They even arranged museum visit times for us before we even arrived! The room was lovely, quiet and charming - perfect size and great use of space. The shower was a bit small, but fine. The hotel offers free internet access on a computer in the lobby, which was very helpful. The breakfast was nice, with a variety of choices. They also offer a happy hour drink and snacks in the afternoon - a welcomed treat after a day of sightseeing,the location is fantastic Close

We stayed last week in this hotel , the location is very good just and near all main transportation , the room was very clean an confirtable with all ammenities and also a coffe maker it was very nice decorated, the breakfast was also very good. in front of the hotel there is a very good pizzeria and arround the corner a nice trattoria . Arrived early off a Mediterranean Cruise and the room was not ready. The front desk staff was helpful. Upon arrival at our room from a tiny elevator we were disappointed. It certainly did not meet our expectations. The room was very small with very little space for clothes. It was difficult for two people to move around had to climb over the bed and each other. However, our biggest shock was the washroom. The shower was impossible. The smallest I've ever seen. As for the breakfast in the basement very old fashioned dining room we ,after a few bites, chose to pass. We went down the street to a cafe for our morning pastry and cappuccino. I don't know who gave this a four star rating but they need glasses. We also stayed at hotels in Florence, Venice and Milan which were truly four star hotels. It put a damper on our trip to Rome and we couldn't wait to leave. Close

This hotel uses "Simplenet.it" web booking, which I don't know who the actual culprit here is, but here is what happened: Booked online September 9, for September 29th , then I found a better hotel, then cancelled reservation using same online system they use on their website on September 10. Regardless, this hotel charges the total price to my credit card after booking, and did not remove it after cancellation. After cancelled the reservation (3 Weeks before the reservation) . the full charge was still not removed. When I cancelled the reservation online, it displayed that "reservation was cancelled", yet no cancellation e-mail was ever sent. Now i am in a deadlock with my credit card company and this lousy hotel that is ignoring all of my requests to have these charges reversed. Look elsewhere! Regards........ Close
