Have just returned from a 3 day trip to Rome and booked after a day trawling through this website for hotels! Was not disappointed, the hotel is modern inside, not much to look at from outside and the staff were incredibly helpful. We arrived an hour early, but no problem checking in. Rooms were lovely, clean, minimalistic, free room safes, minibar and nice firm beds. Great location, about a 20 minute walk to the vatican/St Peters and totally walkable to the rest of the great attractions. Great restaurants in walkable reach. The reception staff even helped me book tickets on-line for the vatican museums and printed them out for me, nothing was too much trouble. Ok, breakfast wasn't amazing, but was certainly on a par with most of the free breakfasts I've had in Europe and you could have as much as you wanted. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and plan on booking Hotel Twentyone for my next visit to Rome. Close

Hotel Twentyone looked great online but sadly our experience completely changed our view. Do not stay here if you value customer service! Upon arrival we were finally informed (after hearing several fabricated excuses - air conditioning broken / entire floor being repaired) that our room had been double booked, despite the fact that we had received written confirmation of our booking and communicated with the hotel several times via email prior to arrival. The manager stated that there was absolutely nothing he could do and that he had booked us into similar quality hotel near the centre of town earlier in the day. This was quite simply a lie, as the hotel we were dropped off at in the taxi (paid for by the hotel) was in no way comparable with what we were expecting from Hotel Twentyone (see attached photos). In fact, it was of such poor quality it ruined our brief stay in Rome. As we were only staying in the city for 2 days we did not have time to return to Twentyone Hotel and demand alternative accommodation. However, we did email the management immediately upon arrival to request a more suitable alternative for the following night. Needless to say Twentyone Hotel failed to respond to this email and then claimed they had not received it until I asked an Italian speaker to telephone them on our behalf. Then mysteriously the email was found! The result was a token reduction in the rate we were due to pay at Hotel Twentyone and being informed that we would now have to settle our bill at the replacement hotel (as opposed to Hotel Twentyone settling the bill on our behalf as originally agreed) which conveniently prevented any further discussions on price / compensation. Twentyone Hotel appears to have a complete disregard for customer service and its management display an extremely arrogant attitude. Any decent hotel would ensure displaced guests are accommodated in an equivalent / higher quality establishment in the event of a booking mix up. The behaviour of the staff at this hotel ruined our stay, so choose somewhere else if you still want to enjoy your trip in the event of a problem. Close

Small rooms but good and beautiful. Breakfast not so good. Excellent location near Vaticano and Piazza del Poppolo that is a great start to know all this beautiful city on foot.

Location is indeed great, away from the tourist neighbourhoods, still very near to everything. I had a deluxe room, it was very quiet (which is very appreciated) and clean. My room had no St Peters views or any other worth mentioning views and it was more on the small side. My friends who had the same category had a bigger room with great views. The decor is kind of trying hard to be trendy and the service was nothing to shout about (most of the Italians are anyway kind of tired with tourists!). The manager is very friendly and so is Andrea, the male receptionist, and most of the porters. The breakfast was bad, other that the good cappuccino (which is everywhere in this country) the quality of the products-cheese, bread, croissants etc-was low. All the above said i think the hotel is still a good option for someone visiting Rome and cannot afford to spend a fortune and stay in the great hotels like Hassler. Close
