We paid a very reasonable price for our stay in NH Master. The rooms are clean and small without being claustrophobic. There are no bellboys and the friendliest front desk people are the Filipinos (the others would benefit from HR Public Relations classes). If you stay on the lower floors (as we did- the first floor!) you will certainly hear the noise on the street. They do have wonderful glycerine soaps and shower gels in fruity flavors! Breakfast is sumptuous and plentiful. Bottom line: if you need a place to sleep and change, go to NH Master. Insist on a higher floor. Close

I've been at the hotel a week ago and I really enjoyed my stay there. I was fascinated of the atmosphere, the services, the people that work there, the food and the location. It is not far from the city center, we've walked approximately 15 minutes to reach Passeign de Gracia; the metro station Urgell is also 10 minutes walk. It is a very nice small hotel and I felt terrific all the time. Everything was perfect and in order! Close

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. The rooms are of an adequate size and clean. The beds are comfortable. It is only 20 minutes walk from the station and well placed for most of the popular sights. It was possible to walk everywhere. It is situated in a nice area with plenty of bars and cafes around. The breakfast was superb, we especially liked the large choice of fruits, breads and cold meats. There was everything there that you could possibly want. The staff were friendly and spoke very good English apart from one blonde lady on reception who found it very difficult to smile or give advice in any way, I suggest she needs to attend a welcome host course. The hotel was very clean, the rooms and the public areas. The one thing that let it down was that the bar was not open on any of the three nights we were staying, bearing in mind it was a Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. It would have been nice at the end of a long day to have relaxed with a drink back at the hotel. Close

I travelled to Barcelona for new years eve in December 2007 with two others. We shared a triple room and stayed for three nights. The Hotel is located in the L´Eixample area of Barcelona, North/North-West from the popular La Rambla and Barri Gottic. The Hotel itself is a standard tourist class hotel with all modern ammenities & facilities that you would expect from a 3 star hotel. Our room was a decent size as far as European hotel rooms go, with a TV (including pay tv channels), the bathroom a good size and clean, a desk/cabinet and wardrobe. The room had just enough space to fit all our large bags, however sharing a room between three people can lead to challenges with luggage space at times. The bedding was average, but suitable and the linen was clean. We found the airconditioning in the room to be weak (even when set to the highest level), it was not sufficient, this led to some discomfort during the night, the room became stuffy so we had to open the window which ended up letting in some noise along with the fresh air. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and professional at all times. The hotel is not exactly a short walking distance from major tourist attractions but all are accessible via the Barcelona underground train system, it is cheap to travel on and easy to navigate, there are stations nearby such as Urgell and Universitat. Overall we enjoyed our short stay. Close

Stayed here in May 08, and had a fantastic time. We arrived very late and were given a very small room (which for a night or two, would be ok), we came straight back down and were moved the following day...no problems. The staff were fantastic, the guys on recepton could'nt do enough for us - very friendly. The hotel is a little further back, from the very centre of Barcelona, but is no more than a pleasant 20 min stroll, or just round the corner was a tube stop. This is only a small hotel so has quiet a nice feel to it, there is a bar but was not always open. FAB hotel for people that will be out exploring Barcelona. When we went this hotel was much better value than other similar standard hotels. Close
