Stayed here for 4 nights and was quite happy with it. Clean, modern hotel. To access the beach you cross over one road, then there is a mid section approx 30 metres wide, and then you cross over another road. Kinda like a dual carriage way, but not as busy. No sign of the nudist beach! Internet connection was quite slow, but it was free! The beds were quite comfy, and the hotel was very clean. It took us 30 minutes to walk into town, which was a nice stroll along the beach. There is a bus stop just outside of the hotel, and you can get a travel card which is valid for 10 journeys which didnt cost very much (approx 6E's if my memory serves me right). There wasn't an awful lot to do in the evenings, there are a couple of restaurants nearby, and a chemist, but down on the beach they have bars which you can sit at. The drinks at these places were approx 4E for a pint of beer, 2E for a glass of coke, you could also get sandwiches etc from them. I would stay in this hotel again for the price we paid (50E night). We stayed for three nights and it was by far the best hotel we stayed in on our trip. We paid $150AU for a deluxe room and it was huge, clean and modern. We were lucky and had the top floor and a wonderful view of the sea but it appears most rooms should have a good view as there are no buildings in front of it. The staff were also very good and upon checkin we were quite a few hours early but they allowed us to check in anyways which was great. By far one of the bigest hotel rooms I have stayed in and it had everything we could want (except a Iron but most places these days seem to charge). I nice plasma, double vanity in the bathroom, a shower AND a shower/bath, marble bathroom, safe, room service, good curtains to keep the light out in the morning etc etc OH and the best bit... THE BED! It was huge (king) and comfy. As some have mentioned in their reviews this hotel is a little out of the main part of the city but it is still walkable (if you like a decent walk) and there is a metro 5-10mins away so really its not that bad. and there is a nice big shopping centre with all the fashions shops 10mins walk away for the ladies! (it was my first stop). Would recommend to anyone! (for the best rate have a look on some of the discount websites like hotelclub). Close

The Barcelo Atenea Mar is situated a little outside of the main downtown of Barcelona, but it is close to both bus and subway stops and the tourist bus stops at its door. Its location across the street from the beach is convenient and we always felt safe when departing or arriving on foot. The room we had was a corner one that had views of the Mediterranean, as well as of the city proper and the mountains surrounding. It was large, the bathroom was amazing and everything was clean, modern and well kept. We would stay there again! Close

Can't fault this hotel for use by a large group. Spacious enough rooms, clean. Only downside is that not strictly central to Barcelona, and you'll be paying a EUR5-10 cab fare to travel to and from many attractions. Still, four of you in a taxi, it isn't expensive - especially when you can get rooms for EUR85 per night. Close
