This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in!! The location is the only plus point. When my fiance and I arrived they gave us a twin room instead of the double we had booked, when we asked about this mix up all we got from the staff was attitude. They were rude, ill-mannered and stood there rolling their eyes at us like we were inconveniencing them, when actually if you looked behind the desk they were checking their facebook...hardly what you would expect from a supposed 4 star hotel!!! Don't even bother trying to speak to a manager apparently there isn't one, and the rude reception staff are in charge of the whole hotel!! Do not eat the food, not onnly is it cold and greasy, i witnessed at breakfast one of the servers bring out a fresh tray of food, it had a hair on it. The server saw this and just picked it off and plated up the food...after seeing this i didn't bother going back. Finally if that was not enough to warn you away, then the fact that you will not get any sleep here might it is very very noisy! Dogs barking at all hours, people running through the corridors all in all it was horrendous!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! IT IS HORRIBLE!!! Close

This hotel is the one you should stay away from. Except for the fact of its convenient location that's where it ends. At first site the lobby seems chic boutique, but that all ends when you enter the tiny elevator. When we got to our floor, it was dark, and only lit up with sensor lights. The walls were chipped and decrepid. The #'s on the hotel doors were printed on paper and laminated then glued to the wall. The rooms were mediocre. The beds were not suitable for a dog to sleep on. We had an infestation of ants and the people at the front desk could not speak a word of English. The air conditioning sucked, we were dying from heat, and to top it all we had a huge leak in our bathroom ceiling from the room upstairs. In one word "El Stinko"..ok that's 2. STAY AWAY. Close

Lets see, firstly the worst service experienced in Spain. We went from staying at the Westin in Valencia, which was phenomenal, to staying at a hovel. They claim to be a 4 star establishment, i wouldn't give it a one. The roof caved in just outside our bathroom, the room smelt of dog urine and faeces. Never stay here. I can't understand how Barcelona tourism could even grade this hotel... Pathetic Close

If you are looking for a 1 star hotel than this is the place. The beds were cheap, there were holes in the towels, there was a nasty left over sock underneath the bed. When sleeping you can feel the urine protector underneath the sheets. Overall the bedding was cheap. The air conditioner was loud. The view out the window was a wall. Compared to all the other 4 star hotels in the area, this was uncomparable. The only thing good about this was the location. Close

I understand people who don't like Hotel Gotico. My family myself did not. The hotel was ok - the lobby looked better than the other floors; the cleaning products they use smell weird and some rooms are awfully small for 3 people carrying bags. We almost had to leave some stuff outside. But we had a nice balcony from where we could see the nearby Plaça de Sant Jaume and it is perfectly located, just in the Gotic district. Subway is 1 minute away if you want to visit some farther attractions, but the little streets around it are just awesome. The Port Vell, Picasso Museum and the Cathedral are just a walk away, as well. We had a problem which must be told: we noticed some lack of care of the staff regarding our forgotten coats. It seemed that they just did not want to find them, although they were put into some sort of lost and found room. Shipping them turned out to be a problem as well. Other than that, staff was nice and helpful. When in Europe, I don't want more than a basic hotel in a nice location, and this hotel was just fine for my purposes. Close
