The Barcelo Sants is quite a luxurious hotel on top of the main railway station but there was no noise and very welcoming staff. The road to the back of the hotel had lots of pavement cafes and restaurants which were so much cheaper than if you stayed nearer Las Ramblas. We paid 15 euros for 2 excellent meals and a bottle of wine. The restaurants were full of locals so you knew they were good places to eat. Being on top of the station meant you could catch the metro wherever you wanted to go for about 50p per journey. A real gem of a find Close

We were arriving in Barcelona by rail and booked the Sants hotel because it is directly above the railway station. Easy access, and a swift check in. Room was clean, very dated and so much wood, with little purpose other than decoration, and that failed dismally. Busy hotel though and large reception and bar lounges. Breakfast buffet was 2 fo €10 and a bargain. The Red bus runs from outside the station and it´s a good way of passing 2 hours doing the sights of Barcelona in comfort - still warm there at 20c for October it was very good. Close

This was a last-minute reservation, and turned out to be just right. Due to a medical emergency, my original 5 nights in Barcelona were reduced to one night. As I was taking the train to Granada the next day, I needed a place near the Sants train station. You can't get any closer than the Barcelo Sants. The breakfast is excellent, and you can get food in the bar all day, a plus for me with my limited schedule. In addition, I was worried that my medical problem had resurfaced, and an incredibly helpful woman at reception found me an (almost) English-speaking doctor at short notice. The single room was also larger than the ones I later occupied in Granada and Madrid. Close

We stayed here for 4 nights a week or so ago. We paid around £230 for the 4 nights, which was a bargain we found on lastminute.com The hotel certainly doesn't look anything like it does on the internet, however, it was clean (but dated) and was central. The rooms could do with being updated, however they were clean and tidy. Our room got made up every day and the towels replaced every day too. The ice machine on the 2nd floor wasn't working, however we did get plenty of ice as and when we wanted it from the main bar. The room is only really a place to sleep, I'm not one to spend all day in the room, so we were quite happy with our stay at the hotel. Oh yes, and the reception staff were helpful on the 2 occasions we asked for help or advice. Close

The beds are like rocks. The water was often too hot with no cold. The bathtub didnt drain. The toilets ran. There was no ice. The soda machine was out of order. No concierge desk. Close
