Not a swanky place but really good value for money. The room I had was clean and quiet even though it was at the front of the hotel. All the staff I encountered were polite and helpfull, my compliments to them and their management. Oh yes the breakfast was very good too......I got 2nd helpings !!! Close

Although at first glance this hotel seems pricey, when you take into consideration the full English breakfast and free wifi, plus the overall cleanliness, room size, courtesy of the staff, location -- this was a great place to stay. The hotel was close to a tube stop that gave easy access to all the main attractions in London, there were a number of reasonably priced restaurants and a very good pub in easy walking distance, and the staff at the hotel was simply terrific. Lucy and Joe at the hotel in particular were really helpful and friendly. My only suggestions -- getting in and out of the tub was hard for a short person because the sides were very high and the tub was very slippery. This would be a real issue for someone elderly. Also, some variation in the breakfast would be nice -- staying there for 8 days we got rather tired of the identical breakfast choices every day. Overall though, this hotel merits all the stars it's been given. Close

London hotels are famous for being insanely expensive for not very much service. The QCH is a great compromise and I have stayed there, mostly for business, for a few years now. It is a fairly modern property with everything you might want in a small modern hotel including an iron in every room. Free Wifi is also provided so thats a big plus for me. Some rooms are pretty tight but, as I was staying there with my wife for 6 nights, I requested a larger version. Room 206 fitted the bill perfectly. The only downside, and we coped fine with this, was the bed was two singles put together. Normally that is OK but one was really hard and the other semi-soft, so you fell down a minor cliff if moving from one to another. Also the staff, by and large, were very friendly and helpful, patrticularly in the breakfast room. Our "deal" included a continental breakfast and I'd stick to that in the future also. As for location, you just can't beat this place. Five minute walk to Earls Court tube station. Number 24 bus at the door to Baker Street Station, and busy Cromwell Road outside full of black cabs. Also a 24 hour sainsbury's supermarket virtually next door in case you need anything. My tips would be to buy an Oyster travel card at the station as soon as you get there which works on trains and buses. When you are leaving you can cash them back in for all moneys remaining. This one act will save you heaps of time and frustration. Local restaraunts include "The Little French restaraunt", on the shortcut walk to the tube, and Bistro Benitos on Earls Court Road. Both very reasonable. The first with a set price GBP 9.95 3 course menu. Recommend the Lamb Wellington (not very French). At Benitos a massive menu at a family run business since 1979, recommend the King Prawns in Filo starter. In short I highly recommend this hotel for a great London base while you explore this fantasic city. For the money you won't find better. Close
