We stayed for just one night, to see a show in central London. We were able to check in earlier than we expected and the receptionist was very helpful; we were given a map of the area and some discount vouchers for local traders. Our room, although not having a brilliant view, was good-sized, well laid out and immaculately clean. The hotel is next door to the National Maritime Museum and a stone's throw from Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory, both of which are well worth visiting. When we went to the Admiral's Bar in late afternoon there was no one on duty, but a minute or so after contacting reception a member of staff came and served us drinks. We were on a room-only tariff but decided to have breakfast on the morning we checked out; this was very reasonably-priced, at £15 for the two of us, and it was excellent value for money. Reception offered a left-luggage facility, free of charge, as we were going to do some more museum visiting after checking out, but before setting off for home. We used the "Internet Cafe" to do some checking on local transport and were able to print out all the information we needed, free of charge. All in all we had a very enjoyable visit. Close

We stayed at this hotel for one night only. My husband and I were put initially into a pokey little room with a 3/4 bed for the two of us. We went and asked for a bigger bed and they put us in another room which was a lot bigger. The bed was fine to sleep on and the shower is good (inside the bath) but they don't have any flat screen TVs and only had 2 channels working. I really like Greenwich but for a hotel not in London central, it cost a little more than it was worth and that price didn't included breakfast. When we checked out they decided to add £20 onto our bill. When I questioned it, they silently reduced it back to what I initially booked (£81). When my brother-in-law went to pay for their room they did exactly the same, adding £20 onto the bill. It was a quiet and good location but I wouldn't stay there again. It's probably best for the business traveller or somebody staying just one night. Close

About Devonport House Hotel the most positive aspects is that was cozy, with nice staff, cleaning staff was flexible on time schedule, there was coffee and tea available at any time and access free to wireless Internet. Less positive is that rooms were a bit small, view was creepy (some graveyards could be seen from the window), the walls were thin (we could hear the neighbors all night and cleaning staff early morning). It was a cozy experience! Close
